Sales Reality is a one day sales program, originally written for RR Donnelley, designed
to give new sales professionals the chance to run a sales organization for three simulated years. During the program, the participants will be required to handle all of the P&L responsibilities for the ‘company’. They will also have to manage a growing territory, forecasts, supply chain, cash flow and inventory. In short, they are going to have to live the experience that their customers have to live through every day.
The course is designed to get your sales professionals away from thinking about products. As one sales executive told us, “We sell is a number of things. Included among them is the ability to help our customers to lower their costs, increase their sales and gain peace of mind. We help them do this by providing them with the appropriate products and services. We need our sales professionals to think like business owners. This way they can talk the language of business and understand the big picture. Decision makers couldn’t care less about products. They care about driving shareholder value. Once our people got that, they were very successful.”
